• Level of detail to show for large projects
• Introduce urban design principles
• Review Littleton Downtown Neighborhood Plan document
• Site considerations of walkability, connectivity, public/private spaces, and parking
• Design for all ages especially families with children and older adults

SketchUp 101: Introduction to Architecture
Schedule: 1 hour once a week, March – April
Grades: Middle School – High School
Project: Small House

• Overview of SketchUp 3D modeling program
• Draw plan, elevations, and 3D model to scale
• Introduction to standard house dimensions and materials
• Basics of building proportion and form
• Space planning of interior rooms

Architectural Sketching
Schedule: 1 hour once a week, September - March
Grades: Kindergarten - Middle School
Project: Ideal Family Friendly Town

• Sketch with color pencils and markers plans and elevations of buildings
• Build physical models out of paper and cardboard
• Group brainstorming exercise to develop project program with older students
• Discuss favorite places to visit and why
• Basics of building proportion, form, materials, and context
